we've arrived home! Unfortunately a couple of days before we left Wooli (where we spent 5 days) our computer was infected with a virus, so we had to wait until we got home to get it fixed. Our friends Chris & Anne run the Wooli caravan park, and we did stay with them back in February before we went home for the Wedding. Chris's sister Sue & her husband Kev are our best friends. So when they heard we were on our way home, Kev & Sue suggested we all get together at Wooli. Woo hoo.....old friends.

We headed out to see some some sculptures in "The Living Desert" and then out to Silverton. Silverton was settled before Broken Hill, but once Broken Hill was established, Silverton died as a town. In fact, there was such a shortage of building material that most of the buildings in Silverton were shifted to BH. The Silverton hotel has regularly ( Read more... )

We left Moonta Bay on the Yorke Peninsula yesterday morning, and did a record day - over 500Ks. We crossed out of South Australia into New South Wales. It was a really lovely drive. Different from what we had been experiencing with some really lovely tiny towns:

Your thermometer explodes!!!

I kid you not! It got so hot whilst we were setting the van up this afternoon at Moonta (south of Port Pirie) that when I picked the thermometer up, and moved it into the van, it must have been very fragile, because when I put it on the table, the "bowl" with mercury in it, just exploded!
Don't believe me????

We left the heat behind in Streaky Bay. The weather there was a record for November. 42.9 degrees! Heading further down the Eyre Peninsular we arrived in Coffin Bay. It is so much cooler here, we even slept under the doona last night.
